1. Heat the oven to 300 F (150 C).
  2. Cream the butter and sugar.
  3. Gradually stir flour into the creamed mixture until well blended.
  4. Spread or pat the dough in the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 baking pan.
  5. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until just lightly browned.
  6. Remove from oven and immediately pierce all over with a fork.
Softened butter
Butter left at room temperature for approximately 20 minutes.
Cream butter and sugar
Mix butter and sugar together until it is light and fluffy.
